New Year Intention Anchoring through Yoga & Sound

 —  —

Willunga Uniting Church Hall, Cnr St. Andrew's Tce/St. Jude's Street, Willunga SA

The New Year is a time of transition and anticipation, where we can see the windows of new opportunities emerging before us. We have the chance to reflect upon the year that was, and what we want to birth into this new year. This evening workshop/class will be a time to connect with the core of our being, our centre, our true essence, through mindful movement. We will allow the unfolding of what our heart and soul deeply desire through the vehicle of our sacred body, and consciously voice and anchor our intentions for this new cycle in our life. Each time we practise yoga it can be a means of realising our intention, as each pose is a vessel of energy that, as we move and breathe into, has the potential for us to align with and enliven that which we wish to live by. When we practise this on the mat through yogasana, we can learn also to bring it off the mat into our everyday life, infusing each breath and movement with our purposeful intention. By really feeling into and holding a pose, we have the opportunity for our physical and energetic body to speak to us, bringing awareness to and releasing emotions that have been stored in our cellular memory, and inviting a joyful curiosity of how it feels to align our body with the intention of the pose.

What to expect on the evening: Bringing deep awareness to the rhythm of our breath Feeling really comfortable and relaxed in our own body Learn how to release tension and stress and invite spaciousness through our breath and postures Harmonising our body's movement with our breath through yoga postures that open us up to new possibilities and creative visioning Awareness and improvement of our posture Chanting sacred mantras to imbibe our intentions with the spirit of the divine Pranayama - consciously-directed breath exercises to bring balance and harmony within our energy centres Deeply relaxing yoga nidra meditation Soundscape bath with shamanic and melodic voicing, himalayan and crystal singing bowls, gong, koshi chimes, medicine drum, rainstick and rattles An opportunity to write down your intention over a cup of chai
